An NCRS Top Flight Award Winner, this 1959 Corvette Convertible is powered by a dual-quad 283/270 HP V-8 engine that is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and Positraction rear end. It is additionally equipped with a power-operated folding convertible soft top, a heater, a Parking Brake Alarm, courtesy lights, windshield washers, sun shades, power windows, a signal-seeking AM radio and whitewall tires. Presented in Snowcrest White with a contrasting red interior, this 1959 Corvette is the quintessential American sports car of its era and is accompanied by a window sticker.
The NCRS Top Flight Award is a validation of authenticity and originality for Corvette vehicles. The intent of this award is to recognize cars that have been preserved or restored to the highest level of achievement through a systematic judging system. Top Flight Award cars must achieve 94% or above of 4,500 available points in a rigorous process of Operations Check on the Exterior, Interior, Mechanical and Chassis. The NCRS Top Flight Award is an assurance that the car is either original or restored faithfully to original standards using the correct parts and time-honored methods of installation or assembly.
Although the exterior of the 1959 is very similar to a 1958 model, the 1958 model did not have twin chrome tusks in the rear or simulated louvers on the hood. Other minor changes to the 1959 model were redesigned door panels, instruments redesigned for better legibility, the introduction of the T shift handle with positive reverse lock out on 4-speed equipped cars, and different texture seating material.
