Built at the Atlanta assembly plant, this Matador Red 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge is one of just 239 Ram Air IV GTO Judge hardtops produced with a 4–speed manual transmission for that model year. Sporting its original drivetrain comprising the matching-numbers 400/370 HP Ram Air IV V-8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission and Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential, this Judge was treated to a nut-and-bolt restoration and also features power brakes, a hood-mounted tachometer, a remote chrome driver mirror, a rear spoiler and PMD Rally II wheels mounting redline tires. Concealed beneath the black vinyl top is a black vinyl bucket seat interior featuring a center console with Hurst shifter and correct T-handle and a pushbutton AM radio.

The Judge was Pontiac’s answer to the escalating nature of the muscle car market segment, combining premium performance powertrains with bold graphics, spoilers and a definite anti-establishment attitude, one that came from the division’s maverick general manager, John Z. DeLorean. The Judge continued through the 1971 model year, but the effect that first year edition had on the market was never duplicated.
