THE STORY
As the successor to Ferrari’s 356 GTC/4, 400 GT/400i and 412 models of the 1970s and ‘80s, the 456 GT debuted in 1992 as a modern interpretation of Ferrari’s sporting V-12 2+2 models. It also heralded a return to the classical “long nose, short tail” design language of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona and 365 GTC/4 of the early 1970s with a modern twist, including lightweight aluminum body panels. Featuring an advanced 5474cc V–12 powerplant delivering 442 HP, the 456 GT offered a winning combination of everyday practicality along with tremendous performance and handling. Initial production was at Pininfarina but ultimately moved to Ferrari in Maranello by 1995.
The 456 GT sported a 6–speed manual gearbox, while its GTA stablemate used a 4-speed automatic. The 456M, or Modificata, variant arrived in 1998 with subtle interior and exterior updates and a power boost. Production continued through 2003 until the advent of the 612 Scaglietti with only an approximate 3,000 examples of the 456 GT built in total. Delivering blinding acceleration and an advertised top speed of 186 MPH, the 456 GT remains one of Ferrari’s most respected and enjoyable modern V-12 models.
Finished in rare Canna di Fucilli (Gunmetal) paint, this ultimate 456M is powered by a 5.5L V-12 engine paired with the driver-preferred 6-speed manual transmission with gated shifter. Scuderia Ferrari shields appropriately adorn the front fenders. A beige leather bucket-seat interior complements the rare paint finish.
