2013 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Coupe

First shown as a concept at the SEMA show and unleashed for sale in 2012, Chevrolet’s modern COPO Camaro was purpose-built after five years of intensive development work to take on the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak for NHRA Sportsman-class competition. Just 69 examples of the new COPO Camaro were produced, matching the 69 ZL1 Camaros manufactured under Chevrolet’s COPO (Central Office Production Order) system way back in 1969 for drag racing. Of the 69 modern cars produced, two were convertibles and 67 were coupes. Depending on the drag-racing class, power choices for the new COPO Camaro included a 2.9L supercharged mill, a 5.3L LSX, a naturally aspirated 7.0L unit or a 4.0L supercharged LSX.

This one–owner 2013 Chevrolet COPO Camaro is Car No. 60 of the strictly limited run of 69 GM factory-built race cars built. Power for this COPO Camaro is delivered by a 427 CI V-8 engine equipped with Holley electronic fuel injection underneath the cowl induction-style hood scoop. The power is sent to a 2-speed ATI Powerglide automatic transmission driving a Strange Engineering rear axle with a 9-inch aluminum center section, which is located by an adjustable 4-link suspension including double adjustable Strange Engineering coilover shocks. As a 2013 model this COPO Camaro features the first application of the COPO specific wiring harness for the electrical system. As collectible now as it was new, this wild, race-bred 2013 Chevrolet COPO Camaro showcases today’s leading-edge drag-racing technologies and serves as a rolling testament to Chevrolet’s staunch commitment to ultimate performance.
