THE STORY

Chevrolet’s final issue of the sixth-generation Camaro is presented in this 2024 ZL1 Collector’s Edition convertible, one of only 350 Collector’s Editions produced. The car is a fitting tribute to the original Camaro program, code named Panther. In announcing the Collector’s Edition Camaros, Chevrolet Performance Design Director Rich Sheer noted the connection, saying “We found it fitting … to officially recognize the significance of the original code name and share it with Camaro enthusiasts. Of course, the name ‘Panther’ influenced the colors used, Panther Black Metallic for SS and Panther Matte Black for ZL1.”

In addition to its unique matte black paint and black center stripe, this 2024 ZL1 Collector’s Edition convertible is distinguished externally by an exposed weave carbon fiber hood insert, red-painted brake calipers behind black, 20-inch, split-spoke aluminum wheels, a rear spoiler with Panther graphics, a front splitter, dive planes, HID headlights, satin black outside mirrors and a black fuel-filler door with a carbon-fiber insert.

Powered by the Corvette ZR1-sourced supercharged and intercooled 6.2L LT4 V-8, which is backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission, the ZL1’s searing performance is complemented with Magnetic Ride Control, ZF electric variable-ratio power rack-and-pinion steering, Brembo power disc brakes with ABS, and dual-mode performance exhaust.

The power-operated black convertible top folds down to reveal the Collector’s Edition’s unique interior featuring Recaro Performance bucket seats upholstered in Jet Black leather, a heated steering wheel, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, carbon fiber instrument panel molding and a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with navigation.
