THE STORY
Following the landmark debut of the eight-generation Corvette, which ushered in a long-anticipated mid-engine layout and a new engine with a flat-plane crankshaft, the E-Ray debuted for 2024. A direct competitor to the latest hybrid supercars, including the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren Artura, the E-Ray forges a uniquely different path with no plug-in capability, the front-mounted 160 HP electric motor powering the front wheels and acting as a pure power adder, and the midmounted LT2 V-8 internal-combustion engine driving the rear wheels via an 8-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. Performance is—pardon the pun—electrifying with published 0-60 MPH acceleration in just 2.5 seconds—the quickest in Corvette history and 0.01 seconds quicker than the hallowed Corvette Z06.
